The Former 'Ex Cinema Astra' in Verona, Italy

This was a photo I took while on holiday with my mothers to Verona in 2018.
I found it quite ironic how the building had gone through both of the definitions of the word 'decadent'. Once being quite grandeur and rich, seemingly a place of luxury and self-indulgence for the youth of the area. Then falling to decay and decline, the graffiti somewhat marking the end of a cultural era as the very same youth defile the building.
Perhaps a testimony to the rise of streaming giants like Netflix. Are they really contributing to our culture? Or stripping us of it and taking away the sociability of film?

The Vast Expanse

This photo is fairly simple, but I love the composition and hues of colour in it. The large rolling hills are seemingly whittled away the closer they get to the lone boat, which has a magnificent pastel backdrop. A mixture of blues and oranges and even hints of pink, that are all refracted and reflected along the vast expanse of water before it.
Theres a sense of calm within the picture, but equally a sense of loneliness. I wonder whether the person within the vessel is looking out at the pastel coloured sky with a pleased face or a solemn one.

Photo Series: An Eerie Scottish Christmas

A photo series of night photography I took while on holiday in Aberdeen, Scotland for Christmas and New Years. I took these images on a Fujifilm FinePix S5700 and left them completely unedited. I really love the composition of these shots and the desolate way they depict the surroundings, even though I know from memory I know the event was full of people.

Set Design: 'Crow'

A selection of photos I took as evidence of my Art Direction work on the film set of a Tim Burton inspired short film opening that I directed called 'Crow'. I laid out all of the props and set up the atmospheric lighting. This set was used for the opening credits.
